A surplus garden led this entrepreneur to creating natura hand-cut soaps. These small-batch soaps contain all natural ingredients. House of Coffee Beans began in 1973. They roast beans, produced by small, family-owned growers, in small batches. The store is at 2348 Bissonnet St. in Houston, and you can order online to have freshly roasted beans mailed directly to you.

The Jewel Garden is another shop on Strand Street, the main street downtown. It is a must-visit. They have jewelry and watches, unique gifts, and a wide variety of home decor. Their items are truly interesting and unique. Items from this Galveston shop are displayed at The AveO with pride.

Stewart's Packaging is Polly's favorite place to shop. Our to-go containers, cake boxes, and catering supplies come from Stewart's Packaging. They are located just up 23rd Street at Ave N, across from Bambu Mexican. We stop in to browse after a great lunch.
The Style Co. is Galveston's place for contemporary fashion. You can always find a must have here. The Style Co. is located at 21st and Post Office in downtown Galveston.
Galveston Island Dry Goods Company & Gracie's are just a couple stores down from each other on Strand Street at 22nd. Both of these popular stores are the creation of Genette and Keith Bassett. You can find all kinds of great gift ideas for children and adults at both stores.
Clark's Hardwood Lumber Company is where we found the beautiful pieces of cedar and mesquite used in renovating The AveO. Any exotic wood you seek can be found at Clark's. Located in the Heights area of Houston, Clark's Hardwood has what you are looking for and they provide the service you deserve.

Katie's Seafood Market is our go-to fishery. Fresh catches from that same day are offered here. Katie's is at Pier 19 and Harborside, just on the other side of Katie's Seafood House which is a wonderful restaurant. When you have a Private Dinner at The AveO, your seafood was purchased here!
Step back in time to Maceo Spice & Import Co. Besides an old-time deli, a variety of spices, sauces, meats and cheeses, and pastas can be purchased here. Maceo's is the only place I have been able to find champagne vinegar. You can find them at Market and 27th.
The Admiralty is one of those shops that I go into every time I'm in the neighborhood. They have such cool stuff. Great decorating and gift ideas. The staff is a huge help, too! Located at 22nd and Strand Streets, this is a must stop and shop place to be.
